Let me answer a few of the most common ones for you…
Yes! I love to travel and will happily capture your day anywhere within the UK or abroad. I do charge a little extra for travel expenses (including hotel costs) if I am going over 125 miles from Frome, Somerset.
I work with a couple of amazing second photographers who always bring something to your day. Whether you are having a wedding over over 100 or having a small family affair, then a second photographer can be great to get all those extra angles and moments. For example, it’s often great for a second photographer to be with the groom while I am with the bride. You’ll also receive around 250 extra images edited by me.
It’s up to you! I always ask couples if there’s somewhere special that they love but really anywhere which will provide a beautiful backdrop for the images is great. If we can grab a coffee together too then that’s a bonus!
I always like to send through a handful of ‘sneak peaks’ within 48 hrs of your day, and I will always aim to send over the whole gallery within six weeks.
Perhaps you are having a small elopement wedding or just want a few hours coverage. If so, that’s great! I know that weddings aren’t ‘one size fits all’ so if you need me to tweak my packages to suit your needs then please pop me a message and I’d be happy to make a quote that works for you!
I always keep your images for 2 years after your wedding. I recommend that you make copies of your images once I’ve delivered them to you.
James Markham Photography owns the copyright to all the images provided but you will have license and permission to freely print and share the images for personal use.
So far I have never missed a wedding and I really would do everything in my power to make sure that I would never miss one in the future. In the extremely unlikely event that I would have to, I would contact my amazing network of photographers to try and find cover.
I realise how special your day is and my aim is always to document the events of the day in the most natural, creative way and capture those moments which can so often pass by in a flash; leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
I will run through the entire day with you in advance, meeting you for the pre wedding shoot gives you both some beautiful images, a chance for me to hear all about those wedding plans and is always lots of fun.
On the day I will usually arrive a few hours before the ceremony to get some images of the preparation, the smiles (and the tears!) the nerves (and the laughter!) as dresses and suits hang and as everyone gets ready. As the day progresses I'll spend time capturing the emotion of the day as it unwinds, keeping posed and formal shots to a minimum (although It's always great to have a few group shots!) and will follow you both, the family & friends at the ceremony and onto the reception. Ideally I'd like to take a stroll with the two of you at some point in the day to capture some more intimate moments, this also allows you both to have a break from the crowd and to enjoy some time with each other. Later in the day I like to snap the cutting of the cake, the first dance before roaming the dance floor as people break out their best moves!
I am passionate about capturing real people, moments and stories. There’s no better feeling for me than peeking at the back of the camera and seeing a perfectly captured moment, a smirk, a kiss or a tear flowing. I love to capture couples just as they are, in all their glory. Scars and smiles. Tears and belly laughs. So come just as you are, not as you should be.
Finally, I aim to get a range of photos that you will treasure and love forever. Images that’ll nestle on top of the mantlepiece and hang on the wall as the years go by.
